Elijah David lives and works in the Chattanooga area. He spends far too many nights reading when he should be sleeping and frequently finds his bookshelves have shrunk overnight. He is the author of Albion Academy, the first book in the Albion Quartet; Paper and Thorns, the first novella of Princes Never Prosper; and The Path of Lucius Park. Though his only magical talent is putting pen to paper, Elijah believes magic lurks around every corner, if you only know how to look for it. As a professional ghostwriter for over two decades, Blaire Adams , has long been a master secret-keeper. Through her previous airline employment, good fortune came to her one evening when she had the privilege of escorting an acting legend to her connecting flight. With the initials of "LB," this actress decided to turn the tables on Blaire by chatting her up – instead of the usual other way around. After perusing excerpts from her personal writing and promising to "put it in the hands of the right people," Blaire acquired a literary agent within the next week. "LB" had kept her promise. To date, Blaire has over 25 celebrity memoirs in her ghostwriting repertoire. Blaire has played an active part in the campaign for women's rights for almost 30 years, and is well known among the principals of that movement. When the class failed, he was encouraged by a friend to rekindle his passion for writing stories; an interest developed in childhood. J Smith Kirkland Purchase print or ebook on Amazon There are stories that I tell frequently, and memories that I only share on rare occasion. Some people have heard some of the stories perhaps too many times, and some memories have not been heard by anyone at all. These stories and memories, these little fragments of my life, have held onto their place in my brain for years, even decades. They have wired themselves to thousands of synapses so that they can’t be lost, and the oddest words or moments trigger them to be replayed in my mind. I may forget the name of the people who live down the hall, or the PIN for my credit card, or sometimes even my own telephone number, but these moments are as clear to me now as if they had just happened  .

ABOUT

Once there was a group of writers. They wrote in different genres. They wrote in different styles. They were very different in age, experience, political outlook, and their stance on the Oxford comma. (Note to editor: Do not change the punctuation in that sentence.) But they were all writers. And they were all perhaps a little crazy each in their own way.    At 5:30 on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of a month, they gathered at a buffet restaurant to eat and to talk about writing and life in general. Their time together inspired them in their craft. To this day they deny that their group had any connection with the fact that at least two of the buffets where they gathered went out of business.   They criticized one another, brainstormed together, laughed as much as they disagreed and shared what they learned in a group that's been going strong for more than a decade. They've greeted new members enthusiastically and said goodbye reluctantly to those who've become their friends.

Critique Guidelines

The 3rd Tuesday of each month we will discuss writing that has been submitted by two members for critique Submission word count should not exceed 8 pages, at least not by very much. The submissions should be emailed to Crazy Buffet Critique mailing list by the 1st Tuesday meeting. The writers submitting should include something about what they hope to get from the critique comments. Any member can provide comments. They can email them to the writer, or wait until the critique meeting to give comments. The writers will read their submissions on the 3rd Tuesday, and then the work will be discussed. Before the end of the meeting, the next writers to submit for the next month will be identified. Writers that have submitted the least recently will be considered first.
